Whether it’s for a few days or a couple of weeks, our STA options provide a nurturing, home-like environment where participants can relax, recharge, and feel completely supported.
What is Respite Care and STA?
Short-Term Accommodation (STA), including respite care, allows NDIS participants to stay in a supported setting for a short period, typically when carers are unavailable or when the participant wants a break, change of environment, or social opportunity.

How to Access STA Through the NDIS
You can use your Core Supports Budget to access STA, even if it’s not specifically listed in your NDIS plan.
Here’s how:
- Speak to your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or Support Coordinator
- Discuss your goals and how STA supports your wellbeing
- Request STA as part of your plan review
The NDIA typically funds up to 28 days per year and you can use it flexibly:
- One weekend per month
- Two weeks at a time
- Several short stays throughout the year
